Hello, I’m Robert Christopher, Co-founder of Porter & Best.
I was born into a family business, V. Kraus Nurseries, now in its sixth decade as a wholesale garden goods grower/supplier to cities, garden centres, landscapers and orchardists. V. Kraus Nurseries earned its reputation as a leader in Canada’s horticultural industry the old fashioned way—hard work, and hard-earned business acumen.
I nurtured my entrepreneurial tendencies early on, establishing a successful distribution company, Landscape Elements, which held exclusive Canadian rights to a popular contemporary fountain collection.
As opportunities increased, I partnered with a friend to form Mantra Designs International, selling products wholesale to home and garden venues throughout North America. I also co-founded McCann Christopher Group, a real estate holding company.
